Classic Drive Checklist

A driver-friendly pre-run checklist for RetroTorque route packs: the sort of thing that makes a route feel safe, calm and properly organised rather than just “follow a line on a map”.

Before leaving

Car and crew

  • Fuel level checked; EV/phone batteries topped up where relevant.
  • Tyres, lights, wipers and coolant/oil given a sensible look over.
  • Passenger or co-driver has the route pack open before departure.
  • Breakdown cover, insurance and emergency contact details available.
At the venue

Start routine

  • Arrive early enough for coffee, briefing and regrouping.
  • Reset trip meter at the stated start point.
  • Agree regroup points and what to do if separated.
  • Leave quietly and respectfully, especially from villages or pubs.
On the road

Route etiquette

  • Drive within limits; the route is a tour, not a race.
  • Keep sensible spacing and avoid pressuring other drivers.
  • Use the mobile drive mode or printed roadbook safely — ideally with a passenger.
  • Park considerately at viewpoints, cafés and pub stops.
Next phase idea: this checklist can later become a printable page inside each Drive Pack, with route-specific warnings, fuel stops, low-slung-car notes and venue parking instructions automatically inserted.
